The boa is a giant snake known for strangling its prey by wrapping itself around its body. With each breath its prey takes, the boa tightens its grip until its victim suffers fatal circulatory collapse. A serial killer who also did not let go of his prey until he had killed it was Sergei Alexandrovich Golovkin, also known as Boa. Sergei was born on November 26, 1959, in Moscow. He was a handsome man who had women falling at his feet. But Sergei preferred teenage boys. In 1982, he successfully completed his studies at the Russian State Agricultural University. During his studies, he had been beaten up by hooligans. Since this incident, Sergei had been traumatized and developed increasingly sadistic fantasies involving boys, which he put into practice in 1986. In April, the body of a 16-year-old boy was found in a forest in the Moscow suburbs, raped, strangled, and dismembered. A few days later, another boy’s body was discovered, which had suffered the same fate. This caused fear and terror in Russia, which is why Sergei went into hiding for the first time. But after three years, he resumed his gruesome series of murders of teenage boys. Sergei always sought out boys who were staying at a pioneer camp near rivers, where he watched them playing soccer on the adjacent meadows. Sergei had dug a cellar under his garage, where he parked his Lada. He had concreted this pit and equipped it with all kinds of torture instruments to turn it into a torture chamber. Once he had brought the boys there, he raped them. Sergei was a sadistic sex murderer who loved to chain them to walls and cut off their ears, noses, or genitals. He not only cut open their stomachs, but also their skulls to fry and eat their brains. Sergei is even said to have gone so far as to skin a boy alive. In total, Sergei killed 11 boys between 1986 and 1992. Finally, Sergei was arrested in October 1992 due to his carelessness in burying their remains. Sergei was sentenced to death, which, according to the prosecution, would probably have led to more murders. On August 2, 1996, Sergei was killed by a shot to the back of the neck. He was the last person to be executed in Russia. With that, the Boa was finally history.
